Frequently asked questions
Q: Where do I attach my SIGNED, LIMITED EDTION wood plate?
A: All da Vinci's Drawmaton kits have a laser etched area on the main base that reads "Robert Sabuda AUTOMATON."
Carefully glue your SIGNED, LIMITED EDITION wood plate directly on top of this area.

Q: Why doesn't my Drawmaton arm move at all?
A: Check to make sure that all the joints connected by the plastic screws are not too tight and that the arm has a smooth, free range of motion.

Q: Why does my drawing have slight distortions?
A:
1) Watch carefully and make sure both P1 brass nails are touching and following the edge of each Programming Petal as the wheel rotates. If they are not touching at all times, make sure all pieces that have been placed on P5, Drawmaton's arm, have been throughly waxed and can move freely.
2) Each Drawmaton will draw differently due to the slightest variations in assembly as well as factors like heat, cold and humidity.

Q: Why is my drawing scratch or jagged looking?
A:
1) Turn the small knob, which controls the machine, in long smooth motions not short, little ones. Fewer, long turns of the knob will produce a smoother looking drawing.
2) Close your eyes and slowly run your finger along the edge of each Programming Petal and make sure there are absolutely no bumps or ridges on the edges. If there are any bumps or ridges, carefully re-sand those areas until the edge of the Programming Petal is perfectly smooth.

Q: Is my Drawmaton returnable?
A: No. Because Drawmaton is a customer-assemble kit, it is not returnable. If you should need any extra parts, just email us.
